Applied Chemistry takes the core science of chemistry and points it squarely at industry — analytical techniques, industrial processes and sustainable, “green” chemistry. Offered at the University of Kelaniya as the only dedicated applied-chemistry honours degree in Sri Lanka, it is built to supply chemists to the country's food, pharmaceutical, agricultural, environmental and manufacturing sectors. 📚 What You'll Study

The programme runs for four years as a Bachelor's honours degree, with substantial laboratory training and a final-year research project.

To be eligible you need at least three ‘S’ grades at the G.C.E. Advanced Level: Chemistry and Physics are compulsory, plus a third subject from the list below (each minimum grade S).

• Chemistry — minimum grade S (compulsory)
• Physics — minimum grade S (compulsory)
• Third subject — one of Biology, Mathematics, Higher Mathematics, Combined Mathematics or Agricultural Science (minimum grade S)
