📘 Overview

This is the Commerce-stream entry path into the Bachelor of Arts programme at Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka, offered through its Faculty of Social Sciences and Languages. The same degree admits both Arts- and Commerce-stream students, and spans social sciences and languages — Economics, Sociology, Political Science, Geography, Statistics, languages and translation studies. Students can read for a three-year general degree or a four-year honours degree, with honours places decided on first-year performance. It is well suited to commerce students with a strong interest in Economics and the social sciences.

This entry path is for Commerce-stream students who meet the minimum university-admission requirements:

• At least Simple (S) passes in three subjects at the G.C.E. Advanced Level in the Commerce stream — including commerce subjects such as Economics, Accounting and Business Studies
• Any second A/L subject is accepted alongside the listed commerce subject(s)
• Of the total seats, a majority (about 55%) are allocated to Arts-stream applicants and the remainder to Commerce-stream applicants
