📘 Overview

Textile & Apparel Engineering applies engineering principles to the science of fibres, fabrics and garment manufacture — the backbone of Sri Lanka's largest export industry. Offered at the University of Moratuwa in the first department of its kind in the Sri Lankan university system, it combines materials and production technology with industrial engineering. It suits practical, systems-minded students who want to engineer how the country's apparel giants design, produce and improve their products.

It earns a future-proof score of 7.8 because graduates feed directly into a huge, export-driven apparel sector with strong local demand, balanced against the global competition and automation pressures that manufacturing faces.
